Chris Loves Jenni

Jenni and Chris are rare, both as individuals and as a pair.  Jenni is sweet and kind and funny and beautiful. Chris, though I've only met him twice, is friendly, passionate, brilliant, and sincere. Together they are goofy, outgoing, fearless and worldy. And so truly happy.

They found each other online, and had a long distance friendship before they ever met in person. I think a lot can be said for this kind of relationship. You gain trust and appreciation. There is connection based on thoughts, dreams and conversation. She knew his heart before she ever got to hold his hand.

Plus, he totally adores her. "Smitten", I like to call it.

Thanks, lovebirds, for letting me take your engagement pictures. I look forward to our week together in Florida.  Joking! Kind of.

Side note: Chris and Jenni were not told to do this. They look this cute all the time. Strange, I know.

The Eckerts

Even I know that family portraits are usually Mom's idea. They can sometimes feel like pulling teeth. It can be difficult to get each member of a large family in the same location, donning the agreed upon attire, and in the mood to smile for a camera.  But let me tell you – if the Eckerts were not in the mood, if Kathy had to pull teeth, I will never know it. I'm not taking credit, but working with this bunch is cake. And you know I love cake.

It's been an exciting couple of years around the Eckert place as their clan continues to grow.  There is a busy toddler, two sets of [fairly] newlyweds, a smiling baby, and one seriously adorable dog. And they all seem so happy to be home together - even if it includes smiling for a camera.

Proud grandparents. Overalls. Flower picking. Piggyback rides. And spit up. What could be better?

Thank you, Kathy, for thinking of me to take your family portraits. I had a wonderful time.

Peonies

I just adore peonies. They're so classy and delicate and lovely. My mom cut these for me yesterday from her yard, knowing that they are my favorite.

I hope I can make them last :)
